MAGE Antigens

This section describes the members of the MAGE gene family. Melanoma AntiGEn-1 (MAGE-A1) is the first antigen identified on a human tumor and characterized on a melanoma cell line. MAGE-A1 gene encodes a tumor-specific antigen, while other genes of the MAGE family are universally expressed.
