Mechanism of Action

This section explains the mechanism of action of ASCI:

  • Upon administration of the ASCI, the recombinant protein is taken up by antigen-presenting cells (APCs) at the injection site.
  • These cells will migrate to the lymph node and present peptides to CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, upon combination with MHC class I or II molecules.
  • This epitope presentation may lead to the activation of these T-cells; activated T-cells will lead to the lysis of the tumor cells in a highly specific manner.
